This morning the Willow team welcomed our new families with their babies, who will be joining us within a couple of months. The babies were able to meet their new key person and have a go at some of the activities that were set up for them. It was a really nice experience for all and we look forward to the babies starting with us soon.

In Oak room we have been using pipettes to transfer coloured water from cups to an ice cube tray. The children were very interested to see all the different colours they could make when mixing the different waters together. One child asked "what will happen if we put it in the freezer?" and suggested that we would have coloured ice cubes. To follow this interest, we put the ice cube tray in the freezer. When looking at the coloured ice cubes, we talked about the freezing and melting process.

The children at Woodlands have had an extremely busy week raising money to support Children In Need. The children have also taken part in various Children in Need related activities such as, creating Pudsey pictures, collages, baking and yellow themed messy play activities.
We are very proud of all of the children and are happy to announce that the current total of funds raised by Woodlands is. . . . . . . .£363.81 so well done everyone and a big Thank You for your support.

The children in Owls have had lots of fun at Forest School today, we started with a colour hunt , exploring all of the colours around us. We then worked together to collect some large sticks to make a frame and collected yellow coloured leaves to make our 'children in need' Pudsey bear face. The children worked very hard and thoroughly enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate to finish off the session.

The children in Owls were intrigued to find some ice in the garden earlier this week. They collected the ice in a tub and explored the concept of melting before then painting the chunks of ice with different coloured paints. The children collected various objects in a small cup and added water, they then made some predictions as to what they thought would happen when we put them into the freezer, "It might make some freezing cold ice cubes" said one child. The children explored their frozen objects, using hammers to smash the ice and again exploring the concept of freezing and melting.

The toddlers have enjoyed taking part in lots of fun activities this week. The children have been working on social skills and turn taking. Both activities set up followed children's interest of sensory play and transport and the girls in room incororparated these skills into the play. The children really enjoyed the activities and the activities kept the children engrossed in their play for large periods of times socialising and working together.

Today Steph, Co-Director of the Elmscot Group, along with Kids Collective team members, have been busy wrapping presents for the 800 children who will be attending the The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) Christmas party & events over the festive season this year. This huge event takes so much planning & organising and brings great joy & happiness to the children and families that attend.
CAFT provide a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West and it has been our pleasure to support them today.
