Kids Collective Makes Generous Donation to Children’s Bereavement Charity
Kids Collective, the award-winning childcare provider that runs holiday, breakfast and after-school clubs across Cheshire raised an incredible £1,000 for Once Upon a Smile.
In just a few months, families and staff at Kids Collective took part in a number of fundraising events. All the proceeds were then donated to help local children and families who are bereaving.
From February to May 2019, the events held included bake sales, football matches and a car wash – all of which brought the local community together. The Kids Collective team also took part in an epic charity bike ride from Hale to John O’Groats in Scotland. This took them just five days to complete and went a long way towards reaching the £1,000 goal.
Based in Manchester, Once Upon a Smile is a charity that provides much needed support for bereaved families. It was founded in 2011 and is the only bereavement charity in the UK to offer a variety of support to families after the death of a loved one.
The charity was chosen by Kids Collective as it’s a fantastic, local cause that is close to their hearts.
Hannah Reeves, Group Manager of Kids Collective said: “Bereavement is something that has affected both staff and families within our Clubs. It was a delight to be able to fundraise and make a difference to so many families helped by Once Upon a Smile.
“We will be continuing to support the charity in the future, with the next event being a sponsored colour run in September.”

We have recently opened Sidley House, a dedicated bereavement hub supporting families across Greater Manchester, so the money raised will enable us to support more families.”
Kids Collective is part of the Elmscot Group of Day Nurseries, Nursery Schools and Kids Collective Clubs, providing outstanding childcare and education to over 1,800 children across Cheshire.
