Helen Krawczyk, Woodlands’ outstanding Chef, has been shortlisted as one of only five finalists from nurseries across the whole of the UK and will be travelling down to the Inspired Gourmet Cookery School, Milton Keynes, on Wednesday 2nd October to take part in a Masterchef-style cook-off to prepare a two-course meal to the judges.

Woodlands Day Nursery has also been shortlisted as one of five finalists for the Outdoor Learning Environment Award, which was won last year by sister nursery school Hale Day Nursery. Ivana Beckett, Nursery Manager, will undergo a rigorous interview by the NMT judges in London on the 7th October.

‘We are all extremely proud to have made the final in both of these categories. We put a lot of hard work and thought into devising our nursery menus and making sure all meals are not only healthy and nutritious, but also taste and look wonderful. All the nursery children and staff look forward to meal times every day,’ explains Ivana and adds that ‘Similarly, every single area of our inspiring outdoor environment is carefully thought through and designed to help children learn, achieve and develop in all areas of the EYFS, giving them varied learning opportunities, building on their creativity and promoting their well-being.’

Winners of the NMT Nursery Awards 2013 will be presented with their trophies by Austin Healey at the high profile Gala Night held on Saturday 30th November at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in London, attended by 600 guests.
