Elmscot Group Highly Commended in Nursery World Awards 2014

The outstanding local Elmscot Group of Day Nurseries and School’s Out out-of-school Clubs, with 11 childcare settings in the Altrincham, Hale, Bowdon, Sale and Timperley areas, was shortlisted as a finalist in six categories in the national Nursery World Awards 2014.

Elmscot Day Nursery was Highly Commended for the ‘Enabling Environment’ award – the Nursery World judges felt that Elmscot’s outstanding outdoor provision with dens, sand pit, mud kitchen, woodwork area, storytelling area, cottage garden and climbing equipment ensures nursery learning is extended outdoors in all weathers. The team at Elmscot was considered highly successful in ensuring a variety of ever-changing activity areas are set up daily and are committed to offering the best outdoor environment to the children in their care.

The Elmscot Group was a finalist for the ‘Working with Parents’ award for offering parents free workshops and training courses including First Aid, Child Development and Child Nutrition. The Group was also Highly Commended (coming 2nd nationally) for its informative website.

Hale Day Nursery was a finalist in the Best Nursery Food category.

Special congratulations are due to individual team members Nicola Saunders from Hale Day Nursery, who was Highly Commended for Best Early Years Professional/Teacher, and Hannah Reeves, School’s Out Club Leader at Bowdon C-of-E School, who was a finalist for Best childcare Practitioner of the Year.

The Elmscot Group finalists attended the Awards Ceremony in London last week to receive their certificates.
